Why I love massage therapy

Massage therapy changed my life when I was introduced to its healing abilities as a teenager.  Growing up in a home with a father who is a chiropractor/neurologist, nutritional therapist and mother who is a flower child has naturally directed me into holistic healing.  As a teenager I  suffered from severe depression and anxiety.  A few of the ways I chose to cope with these struggles where by substance abuse, diet abuse, and late nights.  My health and peace of mind continued to become depleted and as a result my parents asked me to go see a family friend who practiced as a massage therapist.  After receiving that first session my body became in tune with itself for the first time in a long time, I felt euphoric but in control, calm, “in my body” and best of all happy. It was a new experience for me.
As time went by I chose to challenge my mind and body  to start doing the hard thing and to change my life.  As I became more in tune with my body and mind  I  was able to recognize how much massage assisted me throughout that process.  I decided I wanted to give the same gift and experience that this family friend gave to me to others.  It has been a great career choice and I am grateful for every opportunity I receive to be a facilitator in the healing of others.
I specialize in detailed modalities  such as deep tissue, trigger point therapy, re-balancing therapeutic massage, swedish and reflexology.  I have continuing education in cranial unwinding 1, chakra clearing, Face lift acupressure and would like finish the cranial unwinding program and polarity training in the future.
